The agent
Every launch gets its own agent: a Solana wallet run by mints that receives all creator fees of the coin and spends them on its collection. It works on a timer, in public, and every move is a transaction anyone can check.
Three jobs on a timer
The agent checks its launch every few seconds and does each job when its time comes. Within one check it claims first, then spends, then drops.
- Read the fees waiting in the coin's fee vault
- At least 0.003 SOL waiting?
- Crank the vault: pump.fun pays it out, 100% to the agent
- Add what arrived to the budget
- Spend from the budget, always leaving 0.004 SOL in the wallet for gas
- Is the mint still open?
- Yes: mint the next NFT at the mint price (it needs the price plus 0.0035 SOL for rent and fees)
- No: buy the cheapest mints listing, if price plus fee fits the budget
- Take the oldest NFT the agent still holds
- List every holder of the coin
- Holds at least 10,000 tokens and is a person, not a program?
- Draw one winner and send the NFT
Claim
Every trade of the coin on pump.fun pays a creator fee into the coin's fee vault, on the bonding curve and after migration on the pool. Because the launch set the fee split to 100% for the agent, the only place that money can go is the agent wallet. Every minute the agent reads the vault and, if at least 0.003 SOL is waiting, cranks it: pump.fun pays the vault out and the agent pays the network fee. What arrives is added to its budget.
Spend
The budget is everything the agent claimed minus everything it spent. It always keeps 0.004 SOL in the wallet for network fees, and takes one action per check:
- While the mint is open, it mints the next NFT of the collection as soon as the budget covers the mint price plus 0.0035 SOL for rent and fees. It pays the same price as everyone: 95% to the creator and 5% to mints.
- After the sell out, it buys the cheapest live listing of the collection on mints, if the price plus the 1% fee fits the budget. It never buys its own listings, and it skips a listing whose NFT already moved.
So the agent is always a buyer of its own collection: first at the mint price, then at the floor.
Drop
Every 30 minutes, the agent takes the oldest NFT it still holds and gives it to one coin holder, drawn at random.
The drop lottery
| Holder | Bag | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| A | 4,000,000 | 40% |
| B | 2,500,000 | 25% |
| C | 2,000,000 | 20% |
| D | 1,000,000 | 10% |
| E | 500,000 | 5% |
| F | 8,000 | below 10,000 |
| P | curve, pool | program account |
| G | agent, mints | excluded |
Each token is one ticket: a holder with twice the bag has twice the chance. One draw, one winner, one NFT.
- List every holder
Every wallet holding the coin, with all its token accounts added up.
- Remove who cannot win
Program accounts, which covers the bonding curve and liquidity pools; the agent wallet itself; mints wallets; and every holder with fewer than 10,000 tokens.
- Draw
One number is drawn with a cryptographic random generator across all eligible tokens. Your chance is your tokens divided by all eligible tokens.
- Send
The agent transfers the NFT to the winner. The drop appears in Drops to holders on the collection page with a link to the transaction, as Drop in the Sales tab and the Feed, and the winner shows in Holders. If nobody qualifies, it tries again at the next drop.
Check every step yourself
The collection page of a launch has an Agent card: the agent's address, fees claimed, SOL spent on NFTs, the countdown to the next drop and the list of drops. Everything links to Solscan.
| To check | Open on Solscan | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| The fee split | The coin, then its creator fee sharing | One shareholder: the agent, with 100% |
| Claims | The agent wallet | Incoming SOL from pump.fun's fee program, about every minute while fees flow |
| Mints | The agent wallet, or the collection | A new asset of the collection, owned by the agent, and the price paid to the creator |
| Floor buys | The agent wallet | SOL to a seller, the royalty to the creator, and the NFT arriving |
| Drops | The link in Drops to holders | A transfer of one NFT from the agent to the winner |
mints operators can pause any of the three jobs, for one launch or for all, for example during maintenance. The agent's key is sealed on the server and is only used for these jobs, see Security and custody.
